This anthology is a project for global peace embarked by The league of POETS, an international organization committed to promoting world peace through poetry. The competition will see over one thousand poets worldwide have their poems published in the biggest ever anthology of contempoary poetry ever published. The book will be out in the year 2020 and titled Songs of Peace. There will be honorary certificate of life-time achievement for each of the one thousand selected poets who emerge winners of this historical contest. There will be free distribution of copies of this book.

The contest shall run from 30th of November 2019 to December 30th, 2019.

The aim of this competition which will be happening in various poetry platforms around the world is to bring peaceful coexistence, unity, equity, harmony, cooperation, oneness, growth and peace.
The League of POETS have their administrative headquarters in Nigeria, USA, UK, Kenya, Philippines, India and Hong Kong.


1. Poetry can be written in any poetic style but must center on PEACE.
2. Poem must be an original work of the contest participator.
3. Plagiarism is a serious offense with serious consequences.
4. Only one poem per person.
5. Poet must be at least sixteen years of age before contest deadline.
6. All poems must be written in English.
7. Poem must not exceed (14) lines (including stanza breaks) and cannot exceed 50 characters per line (including spaces between words). Any submission that exceeds these limits will be automatically disqualified. The poem title does not count as a line.
8. Poem must adhere to basic rules of capitalization:
-Do not type poem in all capital letters.
-Do not capitalize the first letter of every word.
-Only capitalize words that are proper (i.e. names and places).
-The first word of each line may be capitalized if it is done consistently throughout.
-Do not use “texting” lingo. Properly spell out all words and numbers.
9. Poems containing language that is vulgar, offensive, or wholly inappropriate will not be accepted.
10. To ensure proper lineation, please use the “Enter” key to start a new line, indicating all intentional line breaks.
11. Include your name and copyright at the end of the poem.

Peace, poem must center on the theme of peace.

Winning poets will get their poems published in the world’s biggest anthology of contemporary in year 2020.

Each winning poets will receive an honorary certificate of participation on the basis of life time achievement in year 2020.

The contest is open to anyone age sixteen and up who writes poetry any where in the world.

Contest entries are judged based on passion, universality, poetic technique, effectiveness, style, and creativity. More on how we judge here

Each of the 1000 poets will get their poems published in the world’s biggest anthology of contemporary poetry 2020 book tiltled “Songs of Peace”.

All publications are copyrighted with the Copyright Act Chapter C28 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 (Copyright Act). All individual poetry remains a life-time property of the author.
